Student Facility Center:
Faculty academic counselors are available to all students of TU Delft.
Examples of issues that academic counselors deal with are: information about the educational program and the regulations applying to these programs; assistance with academic planning, for instance in cases like a delay in studies, personal problems affecting the studies; choosing an academic program (subjects); exemption from exams and exam disciplines; assistance with applications for financial support; the transfer from a polytechnic to university; advice on transfers between degree courses. TU Delft has a central International Office for any questions or problems that an international student may have. They advise students on a wide range of issues such as accommodation, enrolment, insurances, residence permits and legal matters. In case of personal problems students can make an appointment with one of the student psychologists. For disabled students the Department of Education & Student Affairs is the place to contact a counselor. Students may reach them during office hours (9h to 17h), by telephone (+3115 278 8012), e-mail (msc2@tudelft.nl) or internet (www.tudelft.nl). In case the Education & Student Affairs office or the faculty academic counselor is unable to help a student with regard to problems with TU Delft, an ‘ombudsman’ is available; he can be reached by telephone (+31152784403), e-mail (ombudsman@tudelft.nl) or internet: (www.tudelft.nl/ombudsman/). The office is located at Aula TU Delft, Mekelweg 5, 2628 CC Delft.

Hosting services: Students may find rooms at about 325€/month. As Delft is relatively small, they may walk to the University.

TU Delft Library: : The TU Delft Library is the national technical library of the Netherlands. It has an impressive collection of almost one million books as well as a large collection of periodicals, journals, reference works, CD ROMs and all kinds of other information carriers. The catalogue may be consulted in one of the locations of the library or via the internet. The library also has a document delivery service enabling customers to receive the requested documents by post, fax, or e-mail. Books which are not in stock can be obtained on loan from another library. Four study rooms are available for staff and students of TU Delft (for 4 to 12 persons and partly provided with pc’s). Furthermore there are over 1.000 study places throughout the building. Many of these places are equipped with a personal computer. Detailed information on the TU Delft Library is available via internet (
www.library.tudelft.nl).

ICT facilities: TU Delft offers all students a variety of ICT facilities. Upon first registration students are eligible for a free software package. All student houses are connected to the university network, 'DuneT'. Several large student houses have access to DuneT through a high speed glass fiber connection, making applications like video on demand possible.

Welfare services: Delft University offers many welfare services, including a sports centre and a culture centre. The university provides students with disabilities equal access to educational facilities. This means that Delft University gives extra support to students with disabilities or chronic health problems, without compromising the program.

Language courses: TU Delft's Institute of Technology and Communication offers Dutch language courses for beginners, and English, Spanish, French language courses at several levels. The IT&C is situated in the Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management, first floor. The IT&C requires registration in advance.
